Massage therapist specialising in sports massage and soft tissue therapy
I am a Basingstoke based massage therapist with a BTEC level 5 diploma in ‘Soft Tissue Therapy’.
I deliver high quality treatments to aid people to live a pain and injury free life and carry on doing their activities for as long as possible, whether that is on the sports field, at home or at work.
I myself have been through numerous rehabilitation programs and understand the frustrations that injuries, aches and pains can be and how debilitating it might be. I will work 1-2-1 with you to ensure that you get the treatment and help that is specific to your needs.
Soft tissue therapy
Soft tissue therapy helps with chronic tightness, dysfunctional postural tendencies (a position that puts your spine and other joints out of their normal balanced alignment) and injuries to the musculoskeletal system.
Pregnancy massage is tailored to accommodate for a woman’s size and shape, with additional pillows and supports as well as a gentler pressure whilst massaging. Its job is to help a woman’s body to work more effectively during pregnancy.
Sports massage focuses on treating specific minor and chronic injuries. By utilising a wide range of techniques, such as deep tissue massage and active/passive stretching, the muscle fibres can be loosened and realigned.
Strapping and taping
Strapping and taping is used to secure or stabilise an injury or aggravated joint. The tape allows the joint to move freely in directions that do not cause pain but will restrict the movement that causes pain.
Myofascial cupping is an alternative therapy which dates back to earlier Egyptian, Chinese and Middle Eastern times. It helps with pain, inflammation and draws out the toxins that are in the body.
